Herman DuBois, le petit tigre

School is in full force and for many, this is the most reading we've had to do in awhile. Alas, between financial mgmt courses and policy and theory, we're still hanging in there. Work hard, play hard.

Up to my EARS

I knew grad school would be a lot of work, and I've always been pretty good about balancing work and play, but my work self started to suffocate my play self this week. For the first time in a long time, I stayed in on a Friday night and worked on a paper for 13 hours STRAIGHT. Fortunately, the work is finished and now it is time to play... and update my blog. Here are some gems from the past week or so. Enjoy!

My Organizational Behavior I group.
These are the people I've spent the last two weeks with.
Today we finally finished our paper and are officially finished with OBI!

At least we had a nice view...

Our first family dinner. Leah made quiche!

Candid of Dari and Bogle. There is a lot of laughter in this house.

VERMONT!

Mama Leah!

Everything is fresh in VT :)

Leah's got skills, that's why she's Mama Bear.

Dari at the famous Farmer's Market.

"Enter Here"

This place is amazing.

Mom got a birthday present from this table...and our house did too!

Hitting Main St in search of a couch and kitchen table more than one foot off the floor.

Testing out the goods.

Views from campus!

Family dinner at our NEW table!
Notice the goat cheese pasta I made...

New couch! Our living room has really come together nicely.
On the back wall there is a framed picture Dad took of Roma (not seen)
and to the left of the couch is a framed picture Leah had of the
Astrological Clock from Prague! Happy memories.

View from the back porch- the leaves are already changing and falling here.

How I keep sane: dance parties and tons of laughter.

Papa Bear.

The County Fair

To those of you who follow this blog, my sincere apologies for taking so long to create a new post. With Organizational Behavior I in full force, I spend far more time at school than I do at home. There has been little time to relax and when I'm not in class I've been exploring new idea's of "alone time", such as water aerobics class with a much older, local crowd.

I have found my "spot" for the weekends, Mole's Eye, and have been taking in and appreciating all the different people this town has to offer. Tonight I met a guy at the bar and our entire communication was via "notes" on his blackberry; he's a much faster cell phone typer than myself, but I guess that is the case when you're deaf and you use it regularly. It was such an interesting dynamic- he was clearly trying to flirt with me face to face, but it was all over typing back and forth. Perhaps I will learn more sign this year.

I feel that I should also mention that last weekend we ventured out to the Guilford County Fair, it was quite the cultural experience. Yeeee Haw.

My loves, Catherine and Leah at Mole's Eye.

New favorite past-time: breaking it down at Mole's Eye.

This is becoming a theme...

Oh hells yes, roomie.

Something to consider...

Leah and Dari got the chair very much stuck. Thank god I was there...

Guest room/cave.
I made magic happen and we drank mimosas and watched
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" for downtime on Sunday.
Soon to be a ritual- next up- more National Geographic Specials.

Walking through the fields, aka parking lot, to the fair grounds.

Oh my my, oh hells yessssss.

At the fair they had a section for large produce and best baked goods, like any good fair, but they also had a section for kids hobbies. Some were collecting bouncy balls or weird little troll toys, but I really appreciated this one. This kid made a snake out of Mom and Dad's Corona bottle tops- and WON second place.

Part of the fair's schedule was "Chainsaw Art". It was the 87th Fair. I watched him make that.

It was interesting that the fair didn't just offer "fair" food-
there was seafood, mexican, thai and bbq chicken. Quite the array.

I believe that horse is wearing a pink outfit...

Scarecrows... otherwise known as...

Bogle's new boyfriend!

Mmmmm.

More cows.

Yeah, this was actually a part of the kids games and rides...

Our massive lemonade cups!

Finally, I have made it to the weekend. Last night we had a "family" dinner. Tomorrow the possibilities are endless.

Love from Baby Bear.
