Disorientation

Last night Chris, Annie and Emily hosted "disorientation". I was surprised to see that almost our entire class showed up- There are quite a few "gems" on my camera, thanks to Bailey, who video taped the whole party! Who knew this was what grad school was going to be like...

We got up super early to wait in line outside the registar's office to make sure we got on our intensive class trips to Turkey, Mexico, NYC and Mali. Most of us arrived around 7am...

Brattleboro does "Gallery Walk" on the first Friday of every month. Main St is closed and there are street performers, like this man throwing fire, and local artists have their work displayed all over downtown.

Pre Gallery Walk we took a quick trip to NH to stock the freezer.

Hello Vermont.

Going to our school is like going to the UN. All of the International Students came to disorientation...well, almost all of them. Macedonia, where are you?

Yeah, I was the girl who brought silly string. Sorry Em!!

A: Perhaps, but mostly it just makes you dribble a lot.

Maple Syrup and Cheese

The pace is starting to pick up and today there was a lot of anxious energy on campus as we approached 11am. Online registration for fall classes began today and I am happy to report I have the schedule I want and I hope to be taking a class in Turkey and a class in NYC this winter! Tomorrow "disorientation" begins, a much needed let loose party at Chris, Emily and Annie's place.

I'm off to the the pool again today to soak up the sun before the rain comes tomorrow. I'm sure to have an abundance of quality pics up here this weekend, post "disorientation" and the VT State Fair! Here's to hoping I get to meet up with my long, lost little, Ms Brittany Shonts, at the fair as well. We have quite the Labor Day weekend planned!

Time to Orient?

Day one of orientation has come and gone, but fortunately for us we have 4 more days of it. After a quick run around on campus to get our student IDs and email addresses, we had a nice school dinner on campus (almost all of the food is from the school's farm!) and then headed to River View Bar for Margarita Monday.

Sunday Leah and I spent the day wandering through downtown.

It really is "the one and only" Brattleboro...

Cool record shop where I got a pretty funky poster for my bedroom door.

Twice Upon a Time, aka Second Loop, is a huge vintage shop with very

scary mannequins on Main St.

Canoeing, Rope Swings and Beer, Oh my!

Yesterday was the perfect day for a canoe trip! We headed down to the Conn River for a little R&R and some pivo. It was quite the bonding trip- and a great first day with new friends.
